Swedish Tank Deal for Defence Contractor Patria

Finnish defence contractor Patria has won a deal to supply more than 100 tanks to the Swedish army. On Thursday Patria inked the deal worth some 240 million euros with the Swedish Defence Supply Department.
The agreement involves 113 Patria AMV 8x8 mobile systems to the Swedish ground forces. The deal is yet to receive the blessing of the Swedish government.
The terms of the agreement include the delivery of five different versions of armoured personnel carriers as well as an option for an equivalent number of vehicles.
The vehicles will be built in Finland and Patria will hire a number of subcontractors in Finland and Sweden between 2010 and 2014.
