Hockey Player Could Face Years in Prison

Finnish ice hockey player Jere Karalahti could face several years in prison on charges of aggravated drug crimes. The prosecutor in the case is calling for a six-year jail sentence for Karalahti, who is suspected of providing 20,000 euros for smuggling four kilograms of amphetamines into the country. A total of 19 people are charged in the case. An international crime ring is suspected of trafficking about 20 kilograms of amphetamines and hundreds of grams of cocaine from Estonia to Finland. Karalahti denies involvement. YLE
